Chiropractic FAQ

How Long is Chiropractic Care?

Spinal problems neglected for many years, may require ongoing care for optimum spinal function. These problems are often associated with muscle weakness, soft tissue damage, and degenerative changes in the spine.

Some patiens seek Chiropractic care only when their pain becomes severe. This type of health maintenance usually requires more care, which can be costly and time consuming for the patient.

Most patients find that a schedule of preventive visits are helpful in the maintenance of good health.

Our office is ready to help all patients, what ever health goals they choose.

How long you decide to benefit from Chiropractic care is always up to you.

What is an adjustment?

A spinal misalignment is called “Subluxation”. Subluxations cause electrical impulses traveling along your nervous system to be slowed, lost, or confused. Muscle spasms, prolonged periods of pain, delayed recovery from injury, as well as increased chances of permanent damage of degeneration can result from subluxations.

The goal of the chiropractic adjustment is to correct the spinal misalignment ( subluxation) detected during the examination.

To perform the adjustment, the doctor applies pressure to the bone and “unlocks” it from its improper position. The bone will then be free to align itself correctly.

Many people think that the chiropractor forces the vertebrae back into its proper place. But only the individual’s own body knows for sure what the proper place is for each bone. The role of the Chiropractor is to free up the vertebrae, then the body itself can put them back in the correct position.

What is Chiropractic?

Chiropratic is a safe, and effective treatment for many types of neuromuscularskeletal disorders (relating to the nerves, muscles, and joints) as well as other conditions.

It is based on the scientific fact that your body is under control of your brain and nervous system. When spinal or extremity joints become restricted, your nerves become irritated, causing pain and other health problems.

Chiropractic involves the science of detecting these abnormal joint restrictions or misalignments, and restoring proper joint functioning through manipulation or adjustment.

In our practice, we assess and treat many contributing factors of your problem, including the muscles and soft tissues, as well as your lifestyle, diet, nutrition, exercise, and posture.

Since chiropractic physicians receive extensive diagnostic training, we can help you decide if you would benefit from chiropractic care, if you should consult a medical doctor, or another heath care provider.
